How to Protect Your Facebook page from Hackers

As a Meta Content Creator with a large following on Facebook, I oftentimes feel anxious about the possibility that one day, my page will be hacked and gone.

In the past few years, I’ve seen a lot of Facebook pages getting hacked, taken over by phishing content, dissolved, and worse being used for scamming purposes. So how do we get rid of this? How do we prevent hackers from accessing our accounts? In this blog, I will give you some tips based on my own experience on how I secure an account and keep it safe away from hackers.

1. the First tip will be, to change your passwords regularly.

In these times when we log in from different gadgets, it is safer for us to change passwords at least once in two months. Yes, it may be tasking and hard, especially if you are forgetful about passwords but this activity is essential to keep your account protected.

2. Add your 2nd account and other legitimate accounts that you have as an admin.

Multiple admins from your pages will let you secure in case your page will be taken over by hackers since they will have difficulty removing admins especially if there are a lot of administrators on the page.

3. Two-way authentication factor in all your accounts.

Yes, this may be basic but if you haven’t subscribed to this, please try to do so.

4. There are a lot of people who will be messaging your page with links.

Most terms will say “ I want to promote my product on your page”… “we will pay this amount nada nada”… but if they attached the promotion with a link. Don’t click the link on the page, instead copy the link on a notepad and open it to know if it’s legitimate or not.

5. Don’t answer suspicious emails with the Meta logo asking for your passwords or giving you scam violations.

This scammed me a few months back but thank God that I wasn’t able to push through with all the details. Maybe Lexplorations PH is gone by now. There are a lot of ways to keep your accounts safe, not just in Meta but also on all social media platforms. Stay away from viruses, hacks, and wares by joining DECODE 2022.
