Riding Heroes on Spotlight

This year hits the 2-year mark since the world suffered the pandemic due to the Corona Virus outbreak. We were locked down and quarantined. We were not allowed to go out and providing our essential needs during these times is almost impossible. Thanks to our delivery riders who served as our logistic frontliners and provide our needs in the comfort of our home.

To pay tribute to and appreciate these modern-day heroes – advocacy for empowering and recognizing them was created, where they will be put in the spotlight. From the name of the advocacy, they were given the title of riding heroes, our moving frontliners who are doing our errands on our behalf of us.

Riding Heroes Advocacy's support on local food delivery riders this April this year as it continuously finds ways to support the cause - through information dissemination and highlighting the challenges of their job as it was considered freelance and not as noble as other jobs.

Activities of the advocacy will include releasing of testimonials of delivery riders through online platform and to give thanks to all of their hardships. The highlight of the advocacy is to be the voice of these delivery riders in creating a bill that will protect their rights as workers, even if it's just a local legislation of a city.

An advisory is not enough to protect the welfare of the riders. A law should be created for the delivery riders in order to protect their well-being and their right to have a job where they can have government benefits.

Riding Heroes appreciates and celebrates the commitment of these modern-day heroes who, through small acts of kindness and dedication, show that anyone can contribute to creating positive change in society.
